  6. The manual for HVS ColorGIF 2.0 is provided as a set of HTML files. You can view the manual with any 
  7. Web browser. The file "contents.html" is the top-level document.
  8.  
  9. INSTALLATION
  10. ------------
  11. This version is being distributed as a Zip archive. Use WinZip or PKUNZIP to expand the files. After 
  12. expansion, you will have the following files:
  13.  
  14. HVSCGU.8BF  -- the Filter version of the plug-in.
  15. HVSCGU.8BE  -- the Filter version of the plug-in.
  16. README -- this file.
  17. HVSColorGIF Docs -- HTML manual for the product.
  18.  
  19. For maximum functionality, the full HVS ColorGIF 2.0 package includes two versions of the plug-in: a 
  20. Filter and a File Export module. You'll find more about this in the manual. One of the things the filter 
  21. does well is run on other applications besides Photoshop. VERY FEW paint programs support the Export 
  22. plug-in standard. So if you don't have Photoshop, you'll probably only be able to use the filter.

  24. This demo contains both the filter and export plugins which will remain functional for 30 days.
  25.  
  26. 1. Locate your paint program's plug-ins folder. Photoshop has a folder called Plug-Ins inside the main 
  27. Photoshop folder. Under the plug-ins folder is another folder for Filters. 
  28.  
  29. 2. Copy the HVSCGU.8BF plug-in to the Filters folder.
  30.  
  31. 2. Copy the HVSCGU.8BE plug-in to the Exports folder.
  32.  
  33. 4. Restart your paint application. With an RGB image loaded, the filter should show up under Filters/HVS 
  34. Filters.
  35.  
  36. You can put the docs anywhere on your hard disk that's convenient. As a convenience, you might put an 
  37. alias to the contents.html file somewhere on your desktop.

  39. HVS ANIMATOR
  40. ------------
  41. Purchasers of HVS ColorGIF 2.0 will automatically be entitled to download the latest version of Digital 
  42. Frontiers' Java-based GIF animation tool, HVS Animator.
